AI Agents on Your Site
Let customers' AI assistants find your business, ask it questions, send enquiries and book, with the actions you allow, from the AI agents on your site tile.
More and more customers ask an AI assistant to find a business, answer a question about it, leave it an enquiry or book a visit. AI agents on your site lets those assistants reach your business in a controlled way. You set it up in Dashboard → Integrations, on the AI agents on your site tile. How that screen works is covered in Integrations.
AI reaches NovixAgent AI through three separate doors, each with its own tile and its own page:
| Door | Who uses it | Page |
|---|---|---|
| AI agents on your site | Your customers' own AI assistants, with no account of theirs | This page |
| Your AI assistant | You and your team, to read your data and suggest knowledge base changes | Your AI Assistant |
| API | Your developer or an agency, with software of their own | API Keys and Connected Apps |
Each door stays off until you choose to use it. If a tile says the feature is not available for your account right now, it has not been opened for your account yet. What each plan includes and how the limits work is in AI Agent Access: Limits and Plans.
What it does
When a customer's AI assistant looks for your business, it can find you by your website address, read your public details, put questions to your NovixAgent AI assistant, leave you an enquiry, look at your free appointment times and book one, and look up an order. You choose which of these seven actions it may use. The rest of your account is closed to it: it does not see your leads, your conversations or your settings.
- Find your business — looks your business up by its website address. Only a business with a verified domain that has switched this on is found.
- Read your business details — your public details: what you do, the contact details taken from your website, and your lead form.
- Ask your assistant questions — one question at a time. Your assistant answers from your own content and takes no actions. Each question uses one of your plan's monthly messages, and it is marked as written by your assistant. The questions do not appear as chats in Live Chat.
- Send you an enquiry — leaves you an enquiry through your lead form, on behalf of a person.
- Check free appointment times — reads the free slots of your connected calendar.
- Book an appointment — books a free slot for a person. Your calendar sends them its own confirmation, following its own settings.
- Look up an order — checks an order from your online store, given the order number and the email used on the order. The AI app learns the status and shipment of the order, but not the delivery address, the items or a tracking link.
What reaches you
An enquiry arrives in Dashboard → Leads at once, like a lead from your chat, with the source Customer's AI app. When the person asked to speak to a human, the lead is marked Wants a person. There is no email confirmation step in between.
NovixAgent AI does not send automatic follow-ups or reminders to an address that a customer's AI app typed, because the address has not been confirmed as the person's. You can still write to the person yourself from the lead.
A booking is confirmed by your calendar. If we do not get the calendar's answer for a booking, it is listed under bookings to check in What AI agents did, with its time, so you can look at your calendar around then. Once you have checked, choose Remove: the booking leaves the list and its count. The list shows the 20 latest from the last 30 days; older ones come into view as you remove these. Only the owner of the website sees Remove; a teammate with access to Integrations sees the list without it.
What you need
- A verified domain. AI agents reach your business only after you prove the website is yours: Verify Your Domain for AI Agents.
- A website on a paid plan. A site that was deleted, or has no paid plan, is not found.
- The owner of the website. Only the owner changes these settings. A teammate with access to Integrations sees them without changing them.
- For the actions that depend on another feature: a lead form that is turned on for enquiries, a connected calendar with an event type for appointments, and a connected online store for orders. An action whose feature is missing from your plan, or not set up yet, shows that on its row and is not offered to AI apps.
Which plans include what: AI Agent Access: Limits and Plans.
How to connect
- Verify your domain. Open the AI agents on your site tile and follow Verify your domain. Access stays off until the status reads Verified.
- Turn it on. Switch on Let AI agents reach this site.
- Choose what AI agents may do. Tick the actions under What AI agents may do.
- Confirm it is you. Switching on, allowing another action or raising the daily limit asks for your account password and, if you use two-factor authentication, a current code. If you signed up with Google and have no password yet, the screen says Set a password first: choose Set a password by email, set one from the link we send, then return.
AI apps find your business by its website address through our shared address for AI agents. The tile also shows an Address for this site only, which you can give to an AI app that should work with your business and no other.
Settings
- Let AI agents reach this site — the switch. Turning it off needs no password.
- What AI agents may do — one switch for each of the seven actions. Taking an action away needs no password either. An action your plan does not include, or that is not set up, shows why and offers Set it up.
- Daily limit on enquiries and bookings — the most enquiries, and the most bookings, that AI agents may send you in a day. Beyond it they are turned away until the next day. The allowed range is shown beside the field. Leave it empty to use the default. Raising the limit asks for your password.
Check that it works
Look at the tile first: Verified under Verify your domain, and the switch on. Then add the Address for this site only as a custom connector (MCP) in an AI assistant that supports them, and ask it to read your business details or to answer a question about your business. An enquiry you send this way shows in Dashboard → Leads as Customer's AI app and counts toward the daily limit.
What you see
What AI agents did counts the conversations, answers given, enquiries received, bookings made and order lookups. Under Turned away it counts what was refused and why: monthly messages used up, too many requests in a minute, the daily limit reached, repeated enquiries from the same person, the order-lookup limit reached, or the service temporarily unavailable. Agents that named themselves lists the names AI apps gave themselves; those names are not checked, so treat them as a hint.
If it isn't working
| What the screen says | What to do |
|---|---|
| Access for AI agents is not available for your account right now. | The feature has not been opened for your account yet. Your settings do not change that. Write to support@novixagent.ai if you expected it. |
| Verify your domain first / Verify your domain before turning this on | Follow Verify Your Domain for AI Agents, then switch on again. |
| AI agents are not reaching this site: the verification of your domain lapsed. | The proof is no longer on your website. Publish it again and press Check now. |
| An action reads Connect a calendar and choose an event type first, Turn on your lead form first or Connect your online store first | The action needs that setup. Choose Set it up. |
| Confirm it is you / Enter your account password to continue. | You are widening what AI agents may do, so the change is confirmed. Enter your password and, if asked, your authenticator code. |
| Only the owner of this website can change these settings | Ask the owner of the website. |
| The switch is on but no AI agent reaches the site | Check that the domain reads Verified, that the website has a paid plan and is not deleted, and that the action you expect is switched on and set up. After you change the website's address, verify the new address. |
Disconnect, and what happens to your data
Switch off Let AI agents reach this site. The change applies on the next call: the site is no longer found, and an AI app that already knows its address is turned away. Taking back single actions works the same way. Verification also ends when the website's address changes or the website is deleted.
Enquiries and bookings already made stay in Dashboard → Leads and in your calendar. Your settings stay as you left them. What an AI app does with the details you publish, once it has read them, is up to that app and its provider. The details NovixAgent AI keeps are described in the Privacy Policy.
Plan and limits
AI agents draw on the same monthly messages as your website visitors, up to a share set aside for them. When that share is used up, agents are turned away and your visitors are still served. Bookings and order lookups count toward the same monthly allowances as in your chat, and agents use only a share of each of those too. Which plans include which actions, and how the limits work: AI Agent Access: Limits and Plans and What each integration allows, by plan.
