How to install an AI agent on WordPress — paste one snippet
Most "AI chatbot for WordPress" guides start with: install a plugin, configure 12 settings, hope it plays nicely with your theme. That's not the fast path.
The fast path: one script tag
NovixAgent AI is delivered as a single JavaScript file. Adding it to a WordPress site takes one paste and one save.
Step 1 — Copy your snippet
Sign in to NovixAgent AI → Workspaces → open your site's Website Integration Code panel → Copy Code. It looks like:
<!-- copy the snippet from your dashboard -->
<script src="https://api.novixagent.ai/novixagent-ai.js" data-user-id="YOUR-WEBSITE-ID" defer></script>
Step 2 — Paste before </body>
The snippet loads asynchronously, so it belongs at the end of the page rather than in the head. Three options, pick whichever your WP setup supports:
- Theme editor: Appearance → Theme File Editor →
footer.php. Paste just before</body>. - Header/Footer plugin: Install WPCode or Header Footer Code Manager. Paste in the "Footer" slot.
- Page builder (Elementor, Divi): Settings → Custom Code → Body (end). Paste.
Step 3 — Save
Refresh a page. The chat bubble appears bottom-right. It's already trained on your site because NovixAgent AI crawled it during setup.
What you get without further setup
- Answers grounded in your own pages, with source citation.
- Auto language detection and translation.
- Lead capture in-chat (configurable in dashboard).
- Works on mobile out of the box.
When to go deeper
If you want brand colours, a custom welcome message, or your own lead-form fields, configure those in the NovixAgent AI dashboard — no code changes to WordPress needed. One agent covers your site rather than one per section: it already knows which page the visitor is reading, so there is no separate wiring for /shop and /blog.
That's it. From "I want an AI agent on my WP site" to a pasted snippet — the agent is live in minutes.
